Encuentros in the News

On Monday, April 18, 2011 it was announced that the Carlsbad High School student Encuentros Club had successfully raised $400 for their 2011 scholarship fund. Additionally, the funds were matched by the local Encuentros Leadership organization bringing the total available this school year to $800. The club will be awarding two scholarships to deserving students. This is the second year the Encuentros Club has raised scholarship dollars to support graduating students moving on to college.

With great success the nonprofit organization, Encuentros Leadership of North County, conducted their Seventh Annual Conference “Education and Career Exploration Discover Your Future.”

The event achieved its mission to conduct educational workshops with successful professionals who serve as an example of Latinos between the ages of 13 and 18, to inspire them to graduate high school and attend college.

Due to the high dropout rate among Hispanic youth who do not finish high school, the organization finds it has been given the task of informing teenagers about the importance of finishing school.

Con gran exito la organización no lucrativa Encuentros Leadership del Norte del Condado, llevo a cabo la Séptima Conferencia Anual “Exploración de Educación y Profesiones Descubre tu Futuro”.

El evento de Encuentros logró su misión de realizar talleres educativos de profesionistas exitosos que sirvan como ejemplo a latinos de entre 13 a 18 años, para inspirarlos a graduarse de preparatoria y acudir a la universidad.

Debido al alto indice de deserción entre jóvenes hispanos que no terminan la preparatoria, la Organización Encuentros se ha dado a la tarea de informar a los adolescentes sobre la importancia de terminar estudios.
